Guidelines for carrying personal medicines to UAE.

1) As per the latest media reports, UAE Ministry of Health has issued following guidelines for carrying medicines for personal use while travelling to UAE. Travelers need to get permission for bringing Controlled medicines like narcotics, psychotropics drugs. The travelers can apply online for getting the required permission at following link:

2) Controlled medicines can also be declared upon arrival if prior permission hasn't been sought. The online platform is only to save travelers time at the airport upon arrival. List of Controlled medicines is available at following link:

3) There is NO such requirement for non-controlled medicines. However travelers are requested to carry doctor’s prescription for these medicines.

4) Please note that the quantity of controlled medicines, that can be brought to UAE is restricted to one-month usage. The quantity of other regular medicines is restricted to three-month usage. Any medicine that does not meet these requirements may be seized at the airport.
