Know India Programme (KIP) for Young Overseas Indians: – 54th - 56th KIP

Dear All,

As you are aware, since 2004 the Government of India has been organizing “Know India Programmes” (KIPs) for the Indian youth diaspora forthe age group of 18-30, with an objective to connect them with their motherland and to give them an exposure about the various aspect of contemporary India’s form of Art, Culture and heritage etc. The KIP is a 25 days programme together with 10 days tour to one or two partner State.

2.      We are happy to inform that the Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India has announced 54th to 56th Know India Programme (KIP) on the KIP Portal on 30th May, 2019. The schedule of 54th -56th KIP (which can also be seen online) is as follows:

3.     Minimum qualification required for participating in KIP is graduation from a recognized University/Institute or enrolled for graduation and ability to speak in English. The applicant should not have visited India through any previous Programme of Government of India. Those who have not visited India before will be given preference. Applicant must provide documentary evidence to prove Indian origin or an undertaking about Indian origin which must be countersigned by Indian Embassy/High Commission/Consul General. This programme is open to youth of Indian origin (excluding non-resident Indians) from all over the world with preference to those from Girmitiya countries.

4. The eligible applicants can submit applications online (www.kip.gov.in).Missions/Consulates will recommend the applications for Ministry’s consideration after verifying the Indian –origin status of the applicants and other eligibility criteria. Ministry will examine applications recommended by Missions/Consulate and will select the final list of candidates who are eligible to participate in KIPs. 5.     Selected participants are provided local hospitality like boarding and internal transportation in India, return air tickets from their country of residence to India provided participants bear 10% of the cost of total air fare.

6.      It is requested that the information may kindly be circulated among all the members of your esteemed association for wide publicity and to encourage the maximum online registration by young overseas Indians.
