Scholarship Programme for Diaspora Children (SPDC) for year 2018-2019

Ministry of External Affairs launched a Scholarship Programme for Diaspora Children (SPDC) scheme for pursuing undergraduate courses where 150 scholarships are given to the children of PIO/NRIs, children of Indian workers working in ECR countries and children of Indian workers working in ECR countries but the children are studying in India. The objective of the scheme is to outreach the candidates who are in need of financial assistance. Monthly gross income of the parents of the candidates shall not be more than US$4,500/.

2.         The following institutions are covered under the scheme

 (i) NITs, IITs, Schools of planning and Architecture

(ii) ‘A’ Grade institutions accredited by NAAC and recognised by UGC

(iii) Central Universities of India

(iv) Other institutions covered under DASA scheme

3.         A partial financial assistance to the extent of 75% of the total Institutional Economic Cost (IEC) subject to a maximum of US$4500/ per annum is borne by Government of India under this scheme.

4.         All eligible candidates may apply for the Scholarship accordingly under the SPDC scheme. For further details, please refer to the SPDC website at www.spdcindia.gov.in
