Indian Passport Services
The Embassy of India in Abu Dhabi administers the Indian Passport Services for Indian Citizens residing in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. The Services are facilitated through an outsourced agency that receives applications and payment for these services.

The services provided are :

  • Fresh/Re-issue of Passport

  • Diplomatic/Official Passport

  • Emergency Certificate (EC)

  • Police Clearance Certificate (PCC)

  • Surrender (Renunciation) Certificate

  • Registration of Birth & Issue of Passport to new born child

Passport Seva Project (PSP)

The Passport Seva Project has brought in a huge transformation towards delivery of Passport Services in India. More than one crore passports are being issued every year through the Passport Seva system. The Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India, took many significant steps to improve the service delivery experience for the citizens. Not only did the work of simplifying Passport rules and procedures has been achieved but passport services have also been taken closer to the doorsteps of the citizens. In recent years, considerable improvement both in terms of procedure and timelines have been implemented, which has enabled faster delivery of passport services to applicants in India and abroad.

The Passport Seva Programme (PSP 2.0) has been implemented to provide a seamless and secure passport service experience for Indian citizens. The new system integrates advanced digital features, enabling faster processing, enhanced data security, and user-friendly online access for applicants in India and abroad. Indian citizens residing within the jurisdiction of the Embassy of India, Abu Dhabi, are advised to use the PSP 2.0 portal for all passport-related services through the following link:

Passport Seva Project (PSP)

All applications for passport-related services must be completed online through the PSP 2.0 portal. The step-by-step process is as follows:

  • Register on the PSP 2.0 portal by clicking the “Register” link.

  • Login using the registered Login ID and Password.

  • On the Applicant Home Page, select the required passport service to generate a new application.

  • After successful submission, take a printout of the online submitted form.

  • Book an appointment through the BLS appointment link and visit the respective BLS Centre (Abu Dhabi or Al Ain) along with the required supporting documents.

Key Features of PSP 2.0

E-Passports:Passports issued under PSP 2.0 are e-passports embedded with a secure electronic chip containing digitised data of the passport holder. This enables faster and more secure clearance at immigration points.

Online Upload Facility:Applicants are mandatorily required to upload their ICAO-compliant photograph, signature, and supporting documents while completing their online application in the PSP 2.0 portal.

Simplified Corrections:In case of minor corrections in applications, retyping or resubmission is not required. The service provider can make necessary corrections directly through the system.

Enhanced Efficiency and Security: PSP 2.0 introduces improved processing timelines, data protection measures, and an intuitive user interface to ensure convenience and accuracy in service delivery.
