Requirements for Certificate of Registration of Marriage
- Form for ‘certificate of registration of marriage’ (5 copies).
- Sworn Affidavit - 2 prints to be taken. The sworn affidavit should be filled separately by husband and wife.
- Five passport size photographs of husband and wife.
- The Indian national intending to register the marriage must have valid UAE residence/ employment visa issued from Abu Dhabi/ Al Ain.
- In case of an Indian national who is divorced, he/she should produce the divorce certificate attested by Home Department of the State from which the divorce certificate has been issued. Thereafter, it is to be attested/apostilled by the Attestation Section of the Consular, Passport & Visa (CPV) Division of the Ministry of External Affairs, New Delhi.
- Original passport and passport copy (first page, last page and visa page copies are required) of husband and wife.
- Three witnesses (holding residence Visa of UAE) with their original valid passports and copy.
- All the five persons are required to appear before Marriage Officer for signatures with their original passports and a photocopy both at the time of submission of form and at the time of registration of marriage (photocopy required only at the time of submission of form).
- All the particulars must be filled in as per passports
- A declaration on plain paper jointly made by the husband and wife regarding the date and place of their marriage and request to register their marriage at the Embassy.
- Marriage certificate attested by Ministry of Foreign Affairs, UAE (in cases where the wedding has taken place in church or Gurudwara or temple or Judicial Courts). ORA letter from the hotel where the wedding ceremony took place stating the details of the couple, date and venue of the wedding and the registration details of the hotel/trade license copy of the hotel.
- Photographs and video highlights of the wedding ceremony.
- Wedding invitation card.
- The procedure may take a minimum period of 45 days from date of submission of application.
